KU Leuven Faculty of Economics and Business already announced two summer courses that should be of intrinsic interest to many of Fudan students.
The EU inside out is actually a joint venture of KU’s Arts, Economics/Business, Law, and Social-Science Faculties. It offers site visits plus 60 hrs with talks, on six themes (of which each student follows three).
·Principles of International Business Finance combines regular classes (40 contact hours) with assignments or reading work, and site visits or guest speakers.
Both take place in Brussels (week 1) and Leuven (week 2). In an optional third week, students visit six international institutions on the way through the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, France, and back to Belgium. Students can also take an exam (IntFin) or write one or two papers (EU) and receive a transcript. The deal includes four afternoons with site visits; two one-day social trips (to Bruges/Ypres and Antwerp) during the weekend; optional health insurance and access to all sports facilities and university restaurants; and welcome and farewell dinners (with the Chief of Staff of the EU President as keynote speaker) --- seewww.kuleuven.be/summercourses.
